In Sweden, old boathouses have a certain air of vacation times. They can also be seen as honouring the hard labour of our ancestors as fishermen. Multiholks take their design from the architecture of these traditional cottages while being modern feeders or nests for the birds in the garden.
The long-tailed tit is a social little bird that enjoys sleeping in rows on branches. Tending to be unafraid of humans it's easy to get a good look at them if you are lucky enough to have them frequent your garden. Photo courtesy of Johan Ander. #birds #long-tialedtit #sweden #wildlifegarden

Hanging out on a branch in between scavenging for a bite to eat - the long-tailed tit is a year round delight. This non-migratory bird is not easily tempted to the bird table. Their short beaks mean most seed mixes just won’t do however they may be enticed by suet balls or peanuts. Visit our Bird School to listen to and find out more about the long-tailed tit.
