The red squirrel is an arboreal rodent. It grows to 24-30cm and has a bushy tail used to maintain equilibrium. The squirrel is an intelligent and inventive animal, but sometimes it forgets where it hides its food: acorns, nuts, berries, mushrooms, or bird’s eggs. They live alone, but when it’s cold, they sometimes gather in an abandoned bird’s nest to keep warm. Its habitat is primarily in Europe and Northern Asia.
