Christmas at home and in the garden
Ideas for creating a festive Christmas setting indoors or out in the garden.
Our kitchen roll holders are a playful combination of form and function. Adorning the top of each holder, a hand-carved garden bird painted in non-toxic acrylic paint. Their detail-rich nature-inspired expression breathes life into an otherwise plain kitchen item.
Are you prepared for your feathery garden visitors? The Multifeeder Barns are extra-spacious and let you offer many different types of feed simultaneously. If you felt last winter that the food vanished too fast on the colder days, then the Giant Silo Barn is the solution. It holds everything from suet balls, nuts and 10 litres of seeds—all at once.
How many flying hummingbirds are too many? There is no upper limit for some as the decoration frenzy takes over. Hummingbirds live natively in the Americas, most of them in the southern or middle parts. Some migrate even as far north as Alaska.
Suet ball feeder or tea light holder? Why not both? The clever star-shaped suet ball bird feeder makes a decorative feature in the garden or on the balcony. Suet balls are an excellent food source for birds, especially during the colder months, as they need extra energy to keep warm. The star creates a delightful atmosphere as a hanging lantern with a glass tealight holder inserted.
A playful, fun and functional wall hook is a humoristic addition to any home. The hand-carved hooks are artistic yet authentic depictions of wild and domesticated animals. Each animal head is a genuine craft piece with a unique expression attached to a metal hook. All animal hooks come with a short informative booklet about the species.
Rabbit, mouse, cat, hedgehog, squirrel... Small wooden animals and birds in the form of napkin rings—who can resist such a playful detail in the table setting? For yourself or as a fun present to your dinner host.
Functionalism, states that purpose and function should be the sole basis of a building's design. Our Funkis Multiholk draws inspiration from the movement that says architecture should be a means to physically create a better world and life for people. Multiholk is a combined birdhouse and bird feeder designed and handcrafted in solid wood with hand-painted details in environmentally friendly paint. The collection ranges in style from the traditional cottage to the modern Funkis villa.
In the very first light of the day, the redstart begins to sing from the top of a tall tree. They are slender birds, and the male's beautiful plumage flaunts a brick-red belly, black throat and cheeks, and a white forehead. The females are yellow-white on their bellies and greyish-brown on top. When these migratory birds return from their winter stay in Africa, they often find other birds already occupying the available nesting boxes. In effect, they make do with whatever they can find.
The red squirrel is an arboreal rodent. It grows to 24-30cm and has a bushy tail used to maintain equilibrium. The squirrel is an intelligent and inventive animal, but sometimes it forgets where it hides its food: acorns, nuts, berries, mushrooms, or bird’s eggs. They live alone, but when it’s cold, they sometimes gather in an abandoned bird’s nest to keep warm. Its habitat is primarily in Europe and Northern Asia.
Timber construction is an old method traced all the way back to the 9th century. The technique is based on stacking wood logs in a specific way where gravity locks the logs in place in a so called knot. This makes it possible to demount the house and move it when necessary. Timbered chalets can be found in many mountainous areas. Multiholk is a combined birdhouse and bird feeder designed and handcrafted in solid wood and painted with environmentally friendly paints.
