Ostrereierbaum—the Easter egg tree—has a centuries-old tradition in Germany, but the origins of the custom have been lost in history. In this tradition, eggs (coloured Easter eggs) are hung on branches of trees or bushes outdoors and cut branches inside. Today this is a custom in several countries around the world. Coming Easter, we are decorating our Easter tree with colourful hand-carved wooden hummingbirds!
